Graduate Student
University of California San Diego
I received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obipso in 2005, graduated with a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California Santa Barbara in 2007 and am currently a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California San Diego working under Professor Ryan Kastner. In 2004, as part of an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates in the field of Ocean Engineering at Florida Atlantic University I discovered it was possible to combine my engineering background with my interest in the ocean. Now, my research interests span computer engineering and aquatic sciences, focusing on building real-time communication devices and adaptive sampling techniques for monitoring lakes and oceans.
