Welcome to

Jiahua's Homepage!

I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) pursuing my PhD degree. Previously I got my B.S. and M.S. in computer science from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) respectively in 2000 and 2003.

Now I am working with Professor Allan Snavely at PMaC lab on performance modeling and prediction.

My C.V. is available in PDF format.

Research Interests

My research interests are mainly in, but not restricted in, following areas:

  • Performance modeling and prediction
  • Performance measurement and benchmarks
  • Resource Management and Task/Job Scheduling

Selected Publications

Here are some of my publications. All publications are listed in my C.V. (in PDF).

  • Omid Khalili, Jiahua He, Catherine Olschanowsky, Henri Casanova, Allan Snavely, "Measuring the Performance and Reliability of Production Computatinal Grids", The 7th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Grid Computing (Grid'06), Sept. 2006, Barcelona, Spain.
  • Jiahua He, Guoliang Chen, Jiulong Shan, "How to Measure Scalability of SMP Cluster", Journal of Software, pp. 977-986, Vol.15 (7), 2004.
  • Jiahua He, Guoliang Chen, Jiulong Shan, "Optimal-processor-set Speedup of SMP Cluster", Proc. of 5th International Conference on Algorithms & Architectures for Parallel Processing (ICA3PP 2002), pp. 329-332, IEEE Computer Society Press, Oct. 2002.
