Course Objectives: Winter 2007 and Summer 2007 Offering:
A Practical Introduction to Probability and Statistics
CSE 190 is a course in which the CSE Department introduces new
topics to undergraduate students. Some such topics could then be formulated as a
regular course if warranted. Past topics include HotJava Web Browser and Application
in Education, Java and Client-side Web Programming, CGI & Server-side Web Programming,
Internet Technologies, Advanced Web Publishing, Computer and Network Security,
UNIX System Adm. Workshop, Intro to Systems Security, Web site Design and Engineering,
HonorsHigh Performance Computing, Mathematical Programming, HonorsSeminar on Computers
in Society, Advanced UNIX Programming, Interesting Algorithms,
Social & Ethical Issues on Info. Technology, Software System Design and Implementation,
Aspects of Supercomputing, Computer Gaming.
Course Description: Topics of special interest in Computer Science and Engineering. Topics
may vary from quarter to quarter. May be repeated for credit with the consent of
instructor.
Format: 3 hours of lecture and 8 hours of outside preparation per week.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites vary per course per instructor. Department stamp required.
Offered: Every quarter.
