Registration Form Obtaining A Network
Username and Password Email Client Configuration: Prior to launching the email client create a directory in your home
Unix server directory (e.g. csefast.ucsd.edu) which will store the Imap folders
and
messages. This is your 'IMAP root folder' directory.
The parameters to enter into the IMAP email client configuration are:
- Incoming IMAP server: servername.ucsd.edu ** (enable SSL encryption for
off-campus exchange)
- Outgoing SMTP server: smtp.ucsd.edu
- IMAP root folder: per above (e.g. /home/cse_login_name/IMAP_root_folder
)
** Staff/Faculty == csefast.ucsd.edu......... Grad Students == csegrad.ucsd.edu
...... Guests == cseguest.ucsd.edu If your internet connection is off campus (not on UCSD/CSE internal networks
or dialup lines) you must authorize SMTP relaying (outgoing email) via ---

our CSE self-signed certificate. It is recommended to use either Netscape-7
or Mozilla (no spell checker) email client until the Outlook/Eudora/Certificate
