In Thunderbird, it is possible to create rules to file your messages
for you as they are received. In order to create a rule to move any
messages marked as spam by the Barracuda, simply follow these
directions. To see a larger version of any of these images, simply click on
them. If you do not already have a folder that you'd like to use for
filing spam messages into, we'll need to create one. Right-click on your account name in the folder list, and select
"New Folder..."
In the "New Folder" dialog, enter the name of the folder.
In this case, we'll be using "Spam-Barracuda". Press
"OK" to create the folder, and it will show up in your
folder list.
Now we'll create the rule to filter messages marked as spam by the
Barracuda into the new folder. Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Message
Filters..."
Click the button "New..."
Enter "Barracuda Spam Messages" for "Filter
name"
Under "For incoming messages that:", Select
"Customize..." from the first list box (which should say
"Subject" by default.)
Type "X-Barracuda-Spam-Status" (without the quotation
marks) in the "New message header" text field, and click
"Add", then "OK"
Select "X-Barracuda-Spam-Status" from the first list box,
where you previously selected "Customize..."
In the second list box, select "begins with", and in the
text area, enter "Yes" (without the quotation marks.

Under "Perform these actions, leave the first list box with
"Move Message to" selected, and choose the
"Spam-Barracuda" folder we created earlier in the second
list box.
Click "OK" If you want to run the rule against your Inbox now, click the
"Run Now" button back on the Message Filters window.
Close the Message Filters window. Thunderbird will now file any messages you receive which the
Barracuda has marked as spam into the newly-created Spam-Barracuda
folder for you. If you would like to add additional rules to filter out messages
with lower Barracuda Spam scores that you still consider spam, see the instructions here. |
