TITLE: Database Research in CSE

ABSTRACT
Current database research in our department
addresses new challenges in a number of important information
processing areas, and covers the spectrum from theoretical to
applied. We will discuss:
* mediator systems that provide integrated views of semistructured (XML) data
* query processing issues in semistructured data
* mediators that automate the information flow and their application in
extranets and e-commerce
* efficient representation and querying of spatial data
* what-if scenarios in OLAP

Note that we will have to cover some items very briefly. Interested
students are welcome to follow up further with us,
and to join our database group research meetings!
